Adjustments

Recurring allowances and deductions.

Define an allowance or deduction once and it applies whenever payslips are generated, to everyone it is assigned to.

Capabilities

What you can define

Allowances and deductions

Both directions on the payslip, each with a clear type so the payslip reads correctly to the employee.

Fixed amount or percentage

A flat figure or a calculation against salary, whichever matches how the component is actually defined in your policy.

Assigned or organisation wide

Applied to everyone, or only to the people assigned to it, which is how most statutory components actually work.

Active and inactive

Retire a component without deleting its history, so old payslips still explain themselves.

In the product

Each adjustment with its calculation, value and the people it is assigned to.

Every payroll has components that repeat. Statutory deductions, transport allowances, medical contributions, loan recoveries. Handling them by editing payslips each cycle is slow and it is where errors accumulate quietly.

Adjustments

Defined once, applied every cycle

Adjustments in Teamio are defined once and applied at generation, so a payslip is produced correctly rather than corrected afterwards.

What it looks like in practice

The organisation currency set here is used across payroll, expenses, loans and every other amount, so nothing is quietly reported in a different unit.

Adding a recurring component

What you decide once, and what happens every cycle afterwards.

  1. Direction

An allowance adds to the payslip and a deduction reduces it, and the payslip labels it so the employee can read what happened.

  2. Calculation

A fixed amount or a percentage of salary, matching how the component is actually defined in policy rather than forcing one shape on both.

  3. Assignment

Organisation wide or only to assigned people, which is how most statutory and grade-linked components genuinely work.

  4. Application

Applied when payslips are generated, so the payslip is produced correctly rather than corrected afterwards.

  5. Retirement

A component can be made inactive without deleting its history, so payslips from before the change still explain themselves.

FAQ

Common questions

Can a component apply to only part of the year?

Yes. Components can be made active or inactive, and payslips generated while it was inactive are unaffected rather than retrospectively changed.

Can an adjustment apply to only one department?

Yes. Assignment can be to individuals or groups, so a component that applies to one site or grade does not need a separate payroll process.

What currency are adjustments in?

The organisation currency, which is used consistently across payroll, expenses and loans so nothing is quietly reported in a different unit.
